AP – Shares of Nintendo Co. shed a fifth of their value Friday after the Japanese video game giant posted a deep loss in the latest quarter, cut its full-year forecasts and slashed prices on its new 3DS handheld device.

PC World – Nintendo announced Tuesday that it has sold 30 million of its Wii console units in the United States.

PC World – All hail the Wii, symbol of everything the enthusiast press repeatedly underestimated, dismissing it as fad or frivolity for years. And now Nintendo’s reporting it’s sold 30 million Wiis in the U.S., or nearly 71 million worldwide, since the little console that couldn’t–until it could–went on sale back in November 2006.

Ben Patterson – Popular gaming handhelds like Nintendo’s DS and the Sony PlayStation Portable already boast Wi-Fi antennas for online shopping, Web browsing and multiplayer matches, but now a Japanese wireless giant is floating the idea of a handheld console with 3G support when Wi-Fi isn’t an option.
