Digital Trends – Reports have been swirling that Chinese e-commerce leader Alibaba was getting ready to launch its own mobile operating system, and today Alibaba Cloud Computing officially unveiled the Aliyun OS. Aliyun OS is based on Linux and will launch next month on a Chinese-manufactured K-Touch Cloud-Smart Phone W700 at the end of this month.

PC World – The Windows Phone 7 operating system won’t arrive for a few more months (expect a splashy debut as the holiday season nears) and Microsoft is using the extra time to dole out morsels of information about its upcoming mobile OS–one with the unfortunate task of competing with Apple’s iPhone and a bumper crop of Google Android-based phones.

PC World – Like virtually every other hardware vendor, LG has announced plans to join the tablet PC revolution. It seems that LG might be following in HP’s footsteps, though, by abandoning the Windows 7 tablet prototype it has been promoting in favor of a tablet built on a mobile OS platform.

PC World – Intel will team up with Chinese Internet company Tencent on development using the next generation of the MeeGo mobile operating system, Intel said Tuesday.
